Wadsworth is a village in Lake County, Illinois, United States. The population was 3,083 at the 2000 census. It is named after Julius Wadsworth, who was on the board of directors for the Chicago, Milwaukee, St. Paul and Pacific Railroad, which passes through the village.

The Lake County village of Wadsworth is known for its rural surroundings, rolling terrain and upscale single-family homes.
