About MAPLE PARK, il

The Village of Maple Park is located in a rural section of northeastern Illinois straddling Kane and DeKalb Counties and within Virgil and Cortland Townships. The Village is situated about 9 miles east of the City of DeKalb, approximately 63 miles west of the City of Chicago, and about 23 miles north west of the City of Aurora. Illinois Route 38 runs south of the Village and the Union Pacific Railroad runs through the center of town. Maple Park’s location along Illinois Route 38, a primary east-west artery through central DeKalb and Kane Counties, has been a determining factor in its recent growth. The intersection of Route 38 with County Line Road, at the south edge of the present Village, serves as a gateway to the community. Interstate 88 can be easily accessed at the Peace Road interchange, and Illinois Route 47 is the nearest major north-south arterial only 7 miles away. According to the 2000 U.S. Census, the Village had a population of 765. The current population is estimated at approximately 1,100 and the Village is applying for a special census.

The entire Village of Maple Park is situated in the Maple Park Fire Protection District and the Kaneland School District No 302. As of December 2002, the Village corporate area in Kane County was approximately 290.03 acres, and the DeKalb County portion of the Village as of September 2003 was approximately 202.78 acres, bringing the total acreage of the Village to be 492.81 acres.

The Village of Maple Park is a growing community with both a rural and urban feel. We have a great mixture of old and new housing that will appeal to anyone. Closely located only about 15 minutes from I-88 and only about 15 minutes from DeKalb and Sycamore, Maple Park is an ideal place to live.
